design process - save the dates

the save-the-dates were inspired by Silhouette Masterpiece Theatre.

aren’t they just the funniest? I thought, that’s the how we should announce our upcoming nuptials, our very own silhouette masterpiece. plus, silhouettes are very victorian.

with an idea, execution was easy. we went to Spadina House (in the dead of winter, hence all that white) and snapped a few photos. This link taught us how to apply the “oil paint” effect to our photograph. daniel silhouetted a photo of us with illustrator. for the thought bubbles, we took a hint from etsy seller button empire. and to incorporate our wedding motif, we divided it in fours and made a frame.

and so here we have, our wedding announcement.
